Finally
So we finally completed 1 runner redyeing, 2 silk reweavings and I personally can not even tell where the repairs were made. I was trying to figure out how in the world the master weaver was able to do such a fantastic job.
So he tried to tell me, and I will try to relay it back to you as best I can.
First he makes a wooden frame that is just alittle bit bigger then the hole that needs to be repaired. He then gathers the wool or the silk and then dyes it the colors he needs for the rugs. He then makes the foundation strands and staples them to rug and to the frame good and tight so that the work will be straight and correct. He then literally re-weaves the design using the new wool and new foundation into the existing rug. He does this in a way that blurrs itself into the original rug and design so that when scanning with your naked eye you can not tell where the repair began and the existing rug begins. It is truly amazing what these artists can acheive and in such a short amount of time. It takes less then a month to do such master repair.

Chicago silk rug repair
We recieved a gorgeous persian silk rug that needs fringe repair, sanjury and a small hole reweaved. I will post before and after pics once finished. Sorry I havent posted for a few days, it has been crazy busy here. One day this week I will just post before and after pics so you can enjoy the work.

Kashan
We received two Kashan rugs today that were heavily soiled and needed sanjury both sides. It is a shame that they came to us in such a way because they, when taken care of, are very beautiful rugs. I have no doubt that we can restore them back to their original beauty.
When they are finished I will post before and after pics so you can see the quality of the work of Passion Of Persia master weavers.

Beautiful Silk Rug Cleaning
A few weeks ago we recieved a rug that needed to be cleaned. The client had spilled apple juice through out the rug it had turned the rug from a silky peice of art into a dingy, broze looking throw rug.
So, after several submersion washings and several hand scrubbings, the rug has now gotten its luster back. Its shiny, and looks almost new.
We are delivering the rug next week and I cant wait to hear how the client feels about it. I am sure he will be pleased.

Kansas City takes off
Finally Passion Of Persia has officially found trustworthy people to help manage the Kansas City location. We have also transferred two master weavers to that location. So far we have received about 2 calls a day. We are hoping this will be a great way to slide into the Holiday season!

How exciting!
WOW its been a wonderful past couple of days for Passion Of Persia Chicago. We opened up our business there just alittle under a year ago and just recently its exploded. We knew all along that Chicago was a great rug market to tap into, but we figured it would take a while before we became known and trusted in the area. To our surprise word has traveled fast and now we are just as busy at our Chicago location as we are our Scottsdale.
We have been getting quite a few Antique Rug repairs and cleanings from Chicago. This is probably because of the heritage and history of Chicago. It is alot "Older" then the new surrounding areas of Scottsdale or Phoenix and there are more rugs that are actually Heirlooms in that market.
Its both exciting and challenging to meet the demand but we are rearing to go.

Out Of Staters
Today was a good day for Passion Of Persia. We received several great appointments for rug restoration and cleaning. The exciting thing though was that we received an out of state call for rug repair. The client expressed frusteration because no one in his area was sufficient enough or had the ability to repiar his highly antique rug. After a short discussion with the client his rug is now safely on its way here to be repaird by the master weavers of Passion Of Persia.
It is a shame that rug companies are losing their talent when it comes to being able to properly restore rugs that are antique or highly valuable. Its a whole culture that needs to be revived or it will die out leaving these wonderful works of art to never again be made like new.............
